2009 NRBT - Great Success

On Wednesday, May 20, 2009, Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service brought Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC local students by the bus loads to fish at National Harbor in the second annual Nation’s River Bass Tournament. More than 300 students participated in fishing on land and in bass boats, hands-on activities, exhibits, creating a pollinator garden and boat rides on the Potomac River. Acting Service Director Rowan Gould and Assistant Director Hannibal Bolton, the Honorary Chairman, fished in the competition with the youth and volunteer boat anglers.
